Terms and conditions

Content creators are only allowed to create content for themselves or about historical characters. Teams may collaborate to create a profile about a person, but the person whose profile is created must be the ultimate person responsible for the profile, being a subscriber and owning the pricing plan for the profile.

Personal profiles content is owned by the subscriber represented in the profile. Historial characters content is owned by Version of me from the moment of publication, with the exception of characters for whom an entity may claim ownership of the character´s content or legacy.

All content creators must subscribe and provide their contact information in order to be allowed to submit a profile for creation, no matter if it is a personal profile or a historical character. Content creators can work in teams, but there must always be a lead content creator who is responsible for the character.

Historical characters can be created by any user as long as the character is dead at the moment of creation of the profile, and as long as there is no entity claiming ownership of the character´s content or legacy. Claims over ownership of content shall be directed to Version of me´s content control.

Minors are not allowed to subscribe nor to be lead content creators. There are no age limits for chatting nor for participating in content creation teams, although adult supervision is suggested for both, and content creation teams demand the existence of a lead content creator who is a parent, teacher or adult in charge of the minors. As such, no controls will be implemented on both activities, and responsibility belongs solely in the supervising adult.

Profiles are subject to revision by Version of me. Version of me is committed to freedom of speech and shall do an effort to accept all kinds of content, political and religious opinions for characters, past and present. Also Version of me understands that characters from the past may content ideas and opinions that are not accepted in today´s society, but may be useful for educational purposes. But Version of me ultimately reserves the right to reject content, recommend changes or reject publication of a profile if it does not meet its standards.

​Standards of content:

• Character profile must not contain confidential information of any kind.

• Fictional characters will not be accepted. 

• Religious characters may not be accepted.

• Comedic, satirical or insulting caricatures of characters shall not be accepted. 

• Character profile must not contain abusive, hateful, overly sexual, racist nor discriminatory language. In the case of characters from the past, even understanding that language may not be in compliance with today´s societal standards, content that displays notoriously violent or conflictive characters in a frivolous way shall not be accepted.

• The following characters will not be accepted. The list may be adjusted as deemed necessary solely by Version of me: Adolf Hitler and other significant nazi leaders. Joseph Stalin, Lenin, Mao Tse Tung, Pol Pot and other significant communist leaders. Osama Bin Laden, Sadam Hussein, Muammar Al Gadafi, Ayatollah Jomeini and other significant radical islamist leaders. Significant psycopaths or serial killers shall not be accepted.
   

Version of me does not commit to a timeline for review and publication of profiles, and responses will be provided on a best effort model.

As of the latest edition of this document, profiles can be created exclusively in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
